No one should feel that homelessness is the only option. It should be a community effort when one of our citizens finds that they are facing homelessness not the feeling of shame and isolation that is the common result. Goodwill housing partners with other community partners, the State and County government to find solutions for individuals and families who need our help.
Housing is the priority, providing individuals with shelter, access to clothing, food, medical care, and mental health care are just some of the services we provide. We are growing our community presence so we can help as many people as possible. We make this possible through grants and donations. We coordinate with Carroll Counties Department of Human Services, Area hospitals, Veterans Administration, and area homeless shelters. Our core demographic are victims of spousal abuse and veterans.
We accomplish our goals by leasing and purchasing homes. A caregiver is on site to provide care, prepare nutritious meals and assistance for individuals who are infirm. We work with the County to provide transportation for follow up appointments and ensure that our clients receive drug rehabilitation and mental health services. We apply for financial assistance programs so that they will have ongoing help with rental and utility payments.
Our goal is to create a feeling of self worth to the individuals we help. Rebuilding lives and helping those who may have given up and believe that this is their lot in life…We want you to know that you are not alone and we are here to help!
